October 24, 2011 - Jefferson County Employees Credit Union has changed its name to Jefferson Credit Union. The name was recently approved at a members meeting to reflect its expanded reach.
Since 1941 the credit union has served the employees of Jefferson County, based in Birmingham, Alabama. A change of charter expanded membership to anyone who works or lives in Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Blount, St. Clair, or Bibb Counties, as well as county employees and their families.
